Back to Article Main
Sunday June 1st, 2008 / Modified: 08/12/08
- You have hired the real estate agent to show the house.Stay out of it and let him do his job.Mistakes have been made by well-intentioned homeowners giving out too much or unnecessary information.
- When the home is being shown, only have the potential buyer and the agent at the house.Too many people can be a distraction.
- Open up the curtains and shades and turn on the lights. An illuminated house is more cheerful and inviting. Also, it makes the rooms appear to be larger.
- Turn off all of the noise.Televisions and loud music can be distracting.
- Keep pets put up while showing your home. They can be a distraction for the agent and potential buyer.
- Do not call attention to any problems in the house. It might be something they never notice.
- Be flexible on showing the house.Same-day and last minute requests for showings are common.
